#Bookstagram- December Book Love on Instagram

As I had mentioned a few posts and tweets back that I would be doing something special for December, seeing that its the last month of 2019. A very dear blogger friend Soumya decided to start a new Instagram handle where she would be posting only bookish feed. She came up with an idea to kick start her nouveau SM entry with a book contest and asked me to collaborate with her.

So here is what we have come up with. We consider ourselves die hard bibliophiles and wished to extend this book fetish on our respective Instagram handles. How many favorite books do you think you have? Whats makes them your favorite? Can you pick one each, if we gave you genres/authors/topics/prompts, that would be unique to them?

Intrigued? Pin for later!

We have finalized 31 prompts, one for each day of December and will be posting the prompt along with our selection, on our handles. That reminds me, you are following us on Insta-aren’t you?

    1. Yay!!!! Thats awesome to hear Tulika. I cant tell you how happy I am to hear you jumping in as you read some terrific books 🙂

    1. I know re- I am so excited about this too Soumya. You are a genius to come up with this. Maybe we can make it an annual feature on our instagrams 🙂

  1. Wow Shalz and Sou, wishing you guys an amazing month. I am not active in SM since October. So I’m not sure if I will participate in this, but I will definitely look for your recommendations this coming month. I was contemplating between two books this December – all the light we cannot see and the time travelers wife. You’ve added that here. Huh, I got to choose now.

    1. Since I have read the Time travelers wife- I would recommend that Jayanthy. Its a fantastic read and the movie was good too. I hope you make up your mind soon and then do tell me which one you settled on.

Love to have you for the December campaign, see if you can take out the time. I would love to see what all you read 🙂

  2. This is a cool collaboration. You both are such avid readers. I always look for your reviews to find something new to read. Although my reading slowed down considerably this year. I will have to think really really hard to find a book from half of the prompts. Good luck to Everyone.

    1. Thats great to hear Raji- I dont consider myself that much a reader now as my reading spree is cooled off since some years. I joined up on this awesome idea in the hopes to get some good book reccos as most of the blogger friends here read really amazing stuff. Love to have you over and see what you have in your bookshelves 🙂

  3. This seems like fun…let’s see how I go. I’ve got a fair bit on in December but Insta isn’t too hard. Also, I’m noticing this new trend lately of everyone coming up with a bookstagram account! I find it hard enough to maintain one {and one for the cats which doesn’t get much air-time}, I don’t know how people keep two accounts actively. Kudos to them!

    1. I hear you on the two account on Insta-I have two and I am damned lazy when it comes to doing much on them. One I started just for the blog and its been stagnant for past several months. So yeah even I am envious of peeps who can manage more than one account 😉

I would love to see your books on this Sanch; hopefully you will join in and share the amazing books you keep finding out 🙂

    1. Thanks Jyothi; would be great to see your list too. Have fun following it and do tell us what you think about the choices. You can always mention in the comment which one would have been your fav book for this prompt – what do you think of that? 🙂

  4. This is a wonderful idea for book lovers. I could see book titles appearing in my head as I read through the list of prompts. If only I was in India and had access to all my books displayed in my book shelf, I would have jumped in whole-heartedly. As of now, I will be watching and following your feeds as well as others’. I wish you and Soumya success.

    1. Awww thats a shame Anu- your books are just fabulous and it would have been thrilling to sneak peak into your bookshelves. I hope you still do follow it and share via comments your choices on the prompts. Atleast we will the names of some great new books to add to our TBR 🙂

      Thanks for the wishes Anu!
