Magnipend
Magnipend – To hold something in very high esteem. I am talking about 5 magnificent books that make it to my top five reads of all time, every time.
Any reader worth their salt will attest to the fact that finding a book that fulfills them is worth its weight in gold. Finding a literary work that checks all the boxes is pure joy. It’s not that we don’t read good books all the time. There are plenty of 5-star reads in my list of read books. But not every highly-rated book is one that I treasure and hold close to my heart. These are stories that touch every chord in the right way and ensure their charm doesn’t dim. The writing is superbly prosaic, and the setting and characters are highly unforgettable.
Even though I have decided to share five magnipend books, there are plenty more on my list. The number has been going up every year as I end up finding at least one such book more. I am sharing the names only as I discussed these books in detail in a lot of my posts. All five of them have been reviewed on my blog too and I would request to check the reviews and definitely read them.
Do let me know if you have read any of them and what you thought of them. I look forward to your opinions and favorites in the comments below.

For the uninitiated, AtoZ challenge is a blogging challenge wherein one has to write on every alphabet from A to Z and post on all days of April, except Sundays. Usually its better to devise a theme as it makes it easy to write the posts. Plus readers have a reason to stay hooked too.
Thanks to your A to Z posts, I am learning so many new words!
Magnipend…I have some books that will be my all-time favourite: The book thief, for one, then some of Khaled Hosseini’s books, Palace of Illusions. Usually, I forget the books I read, but these have remained with me for so many years! 🙂
Oh I have learnt them too and happy to share. I had help from Soumya who was supposed to be doing this with me but had to pull out 🙁
Yeah its the books that remain with us year after year are really the ones that are magnipend for us. Book Thief and Kiterunner would make it in my top 20 actually.
I have only read the Night Circus from your list. This post made me think of 5 books that have stolen my mind, only 3-4 come straightaway to the fore of the mind.
Isn’t the Night Circus just spellbinding? Which are the 3-4? Do share your favorites, maybe I will get something for my TBR from that.
